The amount of each bill includes the cost of the energy, a $6.00 monthly fee, other fees, and taxes. I converted to solar power the last week in October 2014. Since the meter is read during the first few days of the month, each bill represents most of the preceding month and a few days of the current month.
Notice the bills are significantly lower during the Spring because the days are longer (fewer lights being used) and less use of the furnace fan. The bills are significantly higher in the summer due to the use of central air conditioning (A/C).
The savings due to the use of solar energy can be seen by comparing bills with corresponding months one year earlier. This comparison only gives approximate values since weather conditions may be different.
The monthly cost of my electricity that is pulled from the grid consists of the cost of the electricity and a fixed fee. Because this page gives these costs for about a year and a half, giving my visitors a good view of how RMP treats its customers, I am not updating this page.
