I checked my net meter this morning and calculated the excess energy to be 44 Kwh. It was 38 kwh yesterday morning, but due to the sunny sky yesterday, the amount has increased a bit. Today and the next several days are predicted to be sunny days, and the excess amount when the bill is issued tomorrow will probably be 50-55 Kwh. I've been keeping the space heater running all day and evening for the past several days, even on the cloudy days that we had last week.
This figure is significantly lower than the 131 Kwh I calculated a week or so ago, but it is larger than I had hoped. My next bill is scheduled for tomorrow, and if my understanding of the information I've read on the Rocky Mountain Power (RMP) web site is correct, the excess energy should be deleted after the next bill is issued. It's nice to go to the RMP web site and see a big 0 for the amount due to date. I'm anxious to see the actual bill tomorrow and the net meter numbers on Saturday morning.
Later: The bill, issued on March 6th, showed the excess energy to be -64 Kwh. This was the first month that more power was generated by my solar cells than was taken from the grid at night.
